Heritage Railways hold over 1000 special events every year. Events for all the railways for the next few months are listed here.
PLEASE NOTE: Events for 2018 will be added over the next few of months (It takes a long while to complete as some railways do not list their events until well into the new year).

13/2/18 - 15/2/18 : Great Central Railway
The heroic pups will be making personal appearances at Loughborough. There's lots of fun for all the family with steam train trips, fun fair rides and why not get your face painted. There will be photo opportunities, so don't forget to bring your camera!
14/2/18 - 15/2/18 : Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
The popular bear will be meeting and greeting his fans at Oxenhope Exhibition Shed at intervals throughout both days of the special event. As well as coming to meet with Paddington Bear, children will also be able to enjoy other fun packed activities such as face painting and craft making.
15/2/18 - : East Lancashire Railway
It's the first day of term at the Wizard Academy, and a sect of sinister sorcerers have made off with one of the school's most important magical artefacts. Join an enchanting cast of characters on a quest to get it back, and learn all of the skills to be an award-winning witch or wizard along the way!

Spring Diesel Gala

An intensive all diesel timetable running throughout the whole weekend and featuring favourites from the East Lancashire Railway's own home fleet, and maybe a couple of surprise special guests!
Thomas Half Term Specials
17/2/18 - 18/2/18 : Nene Valley Railway
Join Thomas on his Half Term Specials as he pulls the train through the tunnel to Yarwell and back, then enjoy a little nostalgia with a trip along the picturesque Nene Valley from the comfort of our carriages, pulled behind a Steam Locomotive.
Everything has doors. Bus Event
18/2/18 - : Epping Ongar Railway
This event will celebrate 'One Person Operation' (OPO) buses. All buses at this event will have doors - no open platforms in sight - including those operating our normal 339 service between North Weald and Epping Underground station. It is a running day and we will be operating trips from North Weald to a variety of destinations, recreating former routes that ran in the area.
Branch Line Day
18/2/18 - : Tanfield Railway
Ride a typical branch line mixed train with waggons full of freight joining your passenger carriages. Keep an eye out for porters loading and unloading all manner of unusual items.
22/2/18 - : East Lancashire Railway
Once upon a time the magical gems of Storybook Land were stolen by a marauding gang of maleficent malcontents, and it is up to you and your favourite fairy-tale characters to join the quest to get them back and rescue everyone's happily ever afters, learning all of the prized princess skills and noble knightly know-how you need!
