PLEASE NOTE: Events for 2018 will be added over the next few months (It takes a long while to complete as some railways do not list their events until well into the new year).

Spring has sprung and the North Norfolk Railway is once again springing to life with the first gala of the year. A selection of our Home fleet will be joined by special guest locomotives in order bring you an action-packed 3 day weekend.

Have you ever wondered about volunteering on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways? Have you ever thought about guarding trains, firing locomotives or working on the track? You don't need previous experience or special skills, as full training will be given. This could be the dream you never thought would come true!
Tornado and Tugs Big Weekend
21/4/18 - 22/4/18 : Midland Railway - Butterley
Enjoy an amazing trip behind A1 Peppercorn Pacific 60163 'Tornado'. Experience the sights, sounds, smells and power of this iconic locomotive.
PLUS, Take a trip down memory lane this weekend and view all 18 character models from the classic children's TV Series 'TUGS'. Visit the Star Tugs Exhibition at Butterley Station and find out all about the history of the TV Series.

Colne Valley at War
22/4/18 - : Colne Valley Railway
The Colne Valley Railway played a major part in the war effort as it served many local airfields. This day will feature evacuation trains, bomb trains, military vehicles and staff in period costumes.
April Road Transport Event
22/4/18 - : Great Central Railway Nottingham
A springtime road transport collection event in conjunction with the Nottingham Area Bus Society on our site at Ruddington. Trucks, buses and cars from yesteryear are displayed, and trade stands offer the chance to purchase models and artefacts for your own collections.
Friendly Engines Day
22/4/18 - : West Lancashire Light Railway
At least two engines in steam (with friendly faces) plus fairground attractions. A day for families with young children. Try driving one of our diesel engines.
Boys and their Toys
28/4/18 - 29/4/18 : Avon Valley Railway
Enjoy a weekend of model railways from the members of the Avon Valley Railway. Go on a brake-van ride around the station. Plus see traction and static miniature engines up close!
Spring Diesel Gala

Featuring: the return to traffic of class 47, 47635 'Jimmy Milne' fresh from roof repairs, our homefleet of 31438, 37029, 03170 and 03119, long term visitor 20001 and possible guest locomotives.
Wartime in the Cotswolds
28/4/18 - 29/4/18 : Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway
Transport yourself back to Sept 1940 and imagine you are waiting for a train at a small station on the Great Western Railway. Children are being evacuated to the coast, soldiers are going back to barracks, and aircrew are heading off to airfields in the South and West. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the weekend in British 1940's period dress, either military or civilian.
