Teddy Bears Picnic

The return of our flagship steam gala in 2017, with its famed all-night running, array of visiting locomotives and intensive timetable. A great line-up of up to four visiting locomotives supported by members of the Severn Valley Railway home fleet, alongside a whole host of other special attractions.
Grand Reopening Gala
22/9/17 - 24/9/17 : Barrow Hill Railway Centre
A grand re-opening, which will celebrate the completion of the £1.2 million Heritage Lottery funded restoration project, that is currently taking place at the Grade II listed Roundhouse complex. The highlight of a four day celebration will be the visit of icons of steam - The NRM's A3 60103 Flying Scotsman and A1 60163 Tornado.
China Clay Gala
22/9/17 - 24/9/17 : Bodmin & Wenford Railway
Visit BWR over this special weekend to celebrate Cornish railway history. You'll find two historic locomotives from the National Railway Museum, 30120 and 30587, in use. We're also expecting to have Judy, the Port of Par shunter famed for her adaptation in the 'Thomas' stories, 4247, 4612, 6435 and a selection of diesel engines in use.
23/9/17 - : Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway
All passenger trains hauled by our vintage diesels, and our collection of military and industrial diesels out for demonstrations, plus a possible visiting engine. Shock/horror: NO steam locomotives on this day!
End of Season Gala

As it says on the tin. It's the end of season so we'll be trying to have everything that we have capable of running, running. Lionheart Station site open with rides behind a steam locomotive.

Steam Through the Ages
23/9/17 - 24/9/17 : Bluebell Railway
Travel through 100 years of history in one day! This new event will bring different eras from history to life with a different decade recreated at each station. It is the Victorian Era that Sheffield Park will depict. Horsted Keynes Station will give a flavour of life during the war years of the 1940s while Kingscote will be a groovy kind of place to be with the 1960s taking centre stage. East Grinstead enjoy some 1980s music.
