The objective of the Helston Railway Preservation Company is to restore to running order, and re-open as a heritage railway, as much of the old Helston Branch Line as possible. The long term aim is to re-open a three mile section of the branch line between Nancegollan and Helston Water-ma-Trout.

7 years after clearance work began, there is 1 mile of re-laid and operational track, with a long term aim to restore the section running between Nancegollan and Helston Water-ma-Trout.

Passenger services started in December 2011, and some 2000 happy customers have now been carried throughout 2012, using a diesel Rushton shunter and a BR Brake Van. The Railway has been open on Thursdays, Sundays and bank holiday weekends. Access is only available via Trevarno Farm, Prospidnick TR13 0RY.

Sidings have been constructed at Tregadjack and a platform at Prospidnick Halt is now in use. A new car park has been constructed at Trevarno Farm near Prospidnick.

The sister organisation, the Helston Diesel Group, have two Ruston & Hornsby shunters, a two car Park Royal Diesel Multiple Unit and a RES van which is being used as a shop.
