Helston Railway has been working since 2005 to reopen part of the old Helston Branch line which used to run between Gwinear Road and Helston. The ambition is to re-open a 3 mile section between Nancegollan and Helston Water-ma-Trout. There is currently a mile of track that has been re-laid and is operational. Trains run between Prospidnick Halt to the north and Truthall Halt to the south of the line, calling at Trevarno station half way along the line. Car parking is only available at Prospidnick Halt which is reached via Trevarno Farm.

Trains have been running for passengers since 2011 and the railway is open on Thursdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays between March and October each year. The railway is also open on selected dates in December for Santa Specials. Until 2018 services were operated with one of 2 Diesel Ruston Shunters and a brake van, but it is hoped that during 2018 steam will return to the railway for the first time in 50 years and that a 117 DMU coach will also be available for train rides.

The other rolling stock present is a 103 Diesel Multiple Unit which acts as a buffet and waiting room and a RES Van which contains the shop.
