Railway Heritage Register On-Line

Hosted by the Vintage Carriages Trust, these registers / databases include:

Carriage Survey
Railway Carriages represent an important aspect of the history of our country and this project will allow them to take their rightful place within our industrial and transport heritage. As an indication, over 400 of the 5,500+ carriages "preserved" within our country are over 100 years old. This survey will allow them (also others, younger - but still of importance) to be identified and recognised.

Electric Multiple Units & Railcars
Published by the Electric Railway Museum, this is a list of all vehicles currently located in preservation in Britain that fall under the description of being either an electric multiple unit (EMU) or an electrically powered passenger carrying railcar. Vehicles that have been modified from either of those types but still retain essential characteristics are also included.

Horse Drawn Vehicle Survey
Horse Drawn Railway Vehicles represent an important aspect of the history of our country and this project will allow them to take their rightful place within our industrial and transport heritage.

Tram Survey
Trams represent an important aspect of the history of our country and this project will allow them to take their rightful place within our industrial and transport heritage.

Turntable Survey
The Turntable Survey Project is co-ordinated by The Friends of The National Railway Museum.

Wagon Survey
