The Ulster Folk & Transport Museum was set up to illustrate the way of life and the traditions of the people of the north of Ireland. Exhibits include a large collection of historic locomotives, carriages and wagons from both standard and narrow gauge railways. Also trams, cars, vans and lorries; aeroplanes and maritime history.

You’ll find the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum on the main Belfast to Bangor Road (A2), near Holywood. We’re about 7 miles, or 15 minutes, east of Belfast City Centre, and there’s easy access by road, rail and bus. By rail, get off at the Cultra Halt rail station. From there it’s a 2 minute walk to the Transport Galleries, or an uphill walk of about 15 minutes to the Folk Museum.
